As a base for ready-to-use system solutions for Control & Industrial Communications, the business unit “Kontron Automation” has taken a highly competitive selection out of Kontron’s broad hardware portfolio. The product lines of Kontron provide a high scalability in performance, connectivity and size, as well as modular flexibility, longevity, and ruggedization. Out of these products Kontron Automation creates application ready platforms and building blocks for OEMs in the Industrial Control market.
Kontron Automation solutions are open in many respects:
- Open industrial communication
Thanks to their use of open communication standards like XML, SOAP and OPC, Kontron systems can be flexibly integrated into nearly every control environment and network.
- Open I/O interfaces
Kontron systems offer almost any requested I/O interface for industrial processes - be it analog or digital counters, AC or DC or a simple serial interface.
- Open Soft-PLC
The integrated IEC 61131-3 soft-PLC offers a range of open interfaces for external software systems. Its comfortable user interface is able to cooperate with custom control software.

AMC Systeme are a PICMG standard for open modular systems. They offer extremely high communication bandwidth, high processing capacity, and high availability.
